Counselling Youth

Youth Counselling (Ages 16-24)
Research shows that both youth and adults can benefit from therapy as they navigate challenging life stages, with additional support helping them through tough times.
Counselling Services for York Region provides evidence-based, youth-friendly therapy in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. While therapy for young people used to be less common, it has grown significantly in recent years and is now a key part of support for youth in the region. Our institution plays a role in this shift by offering a range of programs and services tailored to young people.
I use various therapeutic approaches to understand and address the issues young people face. I am goal-oriented, supportive, and compassionate, and I always strive to provide the highest quality care for our youth clients.
If needed, you can request that your therapist collaborate with your other healthcare providers (like your family doctor, naturopath, or physical therapist). Once progress is made, your therapist will share a report with your healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
Counselling includes:
- Establish a rapport with each youth attending counselling.
- Assess through the use of psychologist led intervention.
- Asess for psychological mental health conditions
- Offer a treatment plan
- Deliver an ongoing treatment plan
- Monitor improvement
- Terminate treatment once goals have been obtained.
