Turns out that ‘turning your swagger on,’ may actually work (at least if you’re male). According to a new study published by the University of British Columbia (UBC), women participants found male subjects less attractive when they smiled, as compared to when they adopted swagger or brooding like poses.
The researchers suggested that males who smiled were perceived to be too feminine or appeared more desperate for sex.
Part of the process is to support cancer survivors after recovery. This may mean working with them on how to manage the anxiety of it coming back. My work and research with OCD have helped me tremendously in helping my patients navigate the uncertainty that comes with this anxiety. Learning to live with uncertainty is what I help my patients with. It's not easy, but it can be done, and we do it already. I just help people understand and see that.
