"Counselling was a worthwhile expenditure that helped me see value in myself. Although quite dimly to start with, I had come to realize that I possess qualities of strength and perseverance. The change I experienced helped me in every aspect of my life. If you’re looking for a therapist for yourself or a family member, don't hesitate to call. I have no doubt they’ll be able to help you."

Grief Counselling - Loss of a Loved one We all will experience loss in our life. Grief can come as a terrible shock it can be painful and isolating. Whether you are an adult or a teen you may be feeling quite uncertain about how to deal with all of this. When death comes it can also bring on genuine conflicts within a person's family, which can often put siblings against one another or even parents against children. Navigating death is not simply processing the loss, it's also learning to navigate the pauses that naturally occur in one's life, dealing with family, managing change, and ultimately coming to acceptance. Our goal in our counselling program is to help our patients navigate through the treacherous waters and move towards peace.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Complex Anxiety ProgramOur clinic has trained extensively to provide the York Region community with treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. We work by helping introduce our clients through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). We introduce our clients to concepts that will help clients better understand their OCD. We also provide them with carefully chosen exercises to help decrease their anxiety through the use of exposure. We do this by first working with the client on reducing rituals and then walk them through exposures. The cognitive work helps them better understand how inconsistent their OCD actually is and we better prepare our clients through the use of educating them on cognitive distortions that keep them stuck in the OCD cycle.
